Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne has debuted the music video for her tune “Fly.”
The track will serve as an anthem for this year’s Special Olympic World Games and according to the artist’s Twitter announcement, every view of the clip counts.
“Guess what?” Lavigne tweeted. “#Fly music video is now available on @Vevo!! Every view helps support @SpecialOlympics: http://t.co/mDm2S5E0Bf”
In the video, we see a smiling Lavigne performing “Fly” mixed in with footage of athletes reaching for their dreams and having fun with their teammates.
The track seems to also have special meaning for the musician who has been battling her own hardship of overcoming Lyme Disease.
“They were asking about me since I was MIA, so I mentioned to one fan directly that I wasn’t feeling good,” Lavigne told People Magazine about fans connecting with her privately on Twitter in December. “The get-well messages and videos they sent touched me so deeply … This was a wake-up call … I really just want to enjoy life from here on out.”
We are so happy to see this Canadian musician back in action and lending her tunes to a great event.
